The City of St. John's posts public advisories whenever we have an interruption in service to ensure the public is kept informed. Some of the categories of advisories include water, garbage, recreation, traffic and building closures. The view below lists advisories that are upcoming or currently on-going.

There is a high volume of traffic at the Residential Drop Off (RDO) at Robin Hood Bay today Tuesday, May 19.
...There will be a delayed opening at Robin Hood Bay Landfill this morning due to a fire, that has now been contained. The landfill will be closed to commercial haulers, with a further announcement at 11a.m. Garbage collection within the City of St. John's will not be affected by this delay.
...Due to forecasted weather conditions garbage collection for Area 3 is postponed by one day and will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2020.
Garbage collection for Area 4 will also take place as scheduled on Thursday, March 26, 2020.
...Due to forecasted weather conditions, waste collection for Area 3 including recycling for 3B is postponed and will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020.
Garbage collection for Area 4 including recycling for 4B will also take place as scheduled on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020.
...Due to extreme wind, the Residential Drop Off (RDO) at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is closed for the remainder of today Saturday, Feb. 8.
The RDO will reopen as regularly scheduled at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020.
...Due to conditions from the storm on January 17, 2020, curbside collection for garbage and recyclables is cancelled for the rest of the week.
...Due to forecasted weather conditions, the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be closed Saturday, January 18, 2020 to both residential and commercial users. The site will reopen to commercial users on Monday, January 20, 2020 and residential users on Tuesday, January 21, 2020....
Due to forecasted weather conditions, waste collection for Area 5 including recycling for 5A is postponed and will take place on Monday, January 20, 2020. Garbage collection for Area 1 including recycling for 1B will also take place as scheduled on Monday, January 20, 2020....
Due to forecasted wind conditions, waste collection for Area 4 including recycling for 4B is postponed and will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020. Garbage collection for Area 5 including recycling for 5B will also take place as scheduled on Friday, January 10, 2020....
Residents of St. John's are advised that due to forecasted high winds, garbage and recycling collection for Tuesday, December 10, 2019 will be rescheduled to Wednesday, December 11, 2019. ...

The error that caused incorrect waste collection schedules and reminders has now been fixed. If you have downloaded the app or are signed up for reminders or alerts, the schedules and new messages you receive are correct.
